Richard Ricciardi, PhD, NP, FAANP is a Health Scientist in the Center for Primary Care, Prevention, and Clinical Partnerships at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). Dr. Ricciardi is a Pediatric and Family Nurse Practitioner who received his Bachelor's of Science degree from Downstate Medical Center, a Master's in Science from the University of Maryland at Baltimore and a Ph.D. from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Before joining AHRQ in 2010, Dr. Ricciardi served on active duty for thirty years and had numerous positions with the Department of Defense, working as a Nurse Practitioner, Senior Leader, and Clinical Scientist. His research interests include disease prevention and health promotion, human performance and fitness, and the delivery and organization of primary health care.
